
Bangladesh women’s A team registered a 104-run win over their Sri Lankan counterparts in the second T20I at the P Sara Stadium in Colombo on Friday, thanks to stellar performances from Rabeya Khan and Shathi Rani.
Bangladesh bowled out the hosts to 60 runs in 16.4 overs after setting a target of 165 runs. Rabeya starred with a four-wicket haul while Shahti set the tone for Bangladesh scoring a half-century.
After being invited to bat first, Bangladesh lost opener Dilara Akter (9) early. Then Shathi accumulated an 80-run partnership with Sobhana Mostary to deliver a strong comeback.
Shathi retired and left the pitch after scoring 50 off 40 balls hitting seven boundaries while Mostary played a gritty knock of 39 featuring five boundaries.
Nigar Sultana Joty notched up 34 off 24 comprising three boundaries and a maximum to help Bangladesh set a competitive total.
In reply, Sri Lanka lost wickets at regular intervals as Rabeya claimed four wickets leaking just four runs in her impressive 2.4 overs spell.
Rabeya had Imesha Dulani and Sathya Sandeepani in the first over of her spell. She went on to pick two more wickets in successive overs, dismissingNilakshana Sandamini (wk) and the last victim Malki Madara.
Apart from Rabeya, Fahima Khatun picked up couple of wickets and Jahanara Alam got one.
 Only openers Kaushini Nuthyanga (11) and Nethmi Poorna (18) managed to cross double digits.
Bangladesh made a positive start to the five-match T20I series by securing a seven-wicket win in the series opener.
