A farmer was killed, and his wife was injured in an attack during a robbery at their house in Gurudaspur upazila, Natore, on early Tuesday.
The incident took place at about 4:30am at village Bri-Chapila of the upazila.
Gurudaspur Police Station officer-in-charge Ujjal Hossain confirmed the news.
The victim, Harej Ali, died on the spot after being stabbed by the assailants, while his wife, Oleda Begum, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Upon realising the burglary, the couple raised an alarm and resisted, prompting the assailants to stab both Harej Ali and his wife.
Three suspects 鈥� Monirul, Masud, and Suman were arrested 鈥� following an immediate operation in the area.
