ATEC, an impact enterprise working to solve clean cooking and climate change, has been awarded with SDG Brand Champion Award 2024, says a press release.

It received the award under the category of ‘SDG Brand Champion in Affordable and Clean Energy’ for the ground-breaking initiative cook to earn.

The cook-to-earn initiative turns cooking into income-generating affairs. This initiative directly opens carbon markets to women in Bangladesh. More than 65 per cent of Bangladeshi households have limited access to clean cooking.

Shuvasish Bhowmick, country director of ATEC; Mominur Rahman, head of marketing; and Rubayet Hossain Khan, assistant manager marketing; shared the stage alongside chief guest, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Water Resources during the award ceremony held on September 10 at a city hotel.

‘We are truly humbled to become SDG Brand Champion 2024. It is the great testament of our works that are helping rural Bangladeshi households gain access to clean cooking solutions at affordable price, preventing daily health-damaging exposure to smoke from wood,’ said Bhowmick, country director, ATEC.
