Former justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik has been shown arrested in six separate murder cases in Dhaka.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jaki Al Farabi accepted the plea after hearing on Wednesday.

He was produced before the court around 8:00am following a petition submitted by the police to show Manik arrested in separate cases filed with the Adabar, Lalbagh and Badda Paltan police stations.

On September 17, a Sylhet court issued bail to Manik, a retired judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, in a case filed with Kanaighat Police Station in Sylhet over his attempt to enter India illegally.

However, Sylhet Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Anjan Kanti Das ordered sending him back to jail as he was accused in one more case filed in Dhaka.

On August 23, Manik was detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh while attempting to go to India through the Dana border in Kanaighat.

Later, he was handed over to the police on August 24.聽

On August 25, he was produced before the district judicial magistrate court under the section 54 of the criminal penal code when the court ordered ensuring his proper treatment in police custody as Manik felt sick due to his scrotal injury.

Many people were seen trying to attack Manik and they also humiliated him by throwing eggs and shoes at him when he went to the court.

Manik was admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital on September 12.
