A teenage girl who was abducted from Srimangal was rescued in the Chattar Gate area under Kaliakair upazila in Gazipur on Wednesday afternoon.
A person named Alamgir Hossain was arrested for his alleged involvement in the incident, the police said.
The arrested is son of Alim Mia of Jakandi village of Moulvibazar Sadar upazila.
The police produced the arrested, Alamgir Hossain, before a Moulvibazar court on Thursday and he was sent to jail through the court order.
Officer-in-charge of Srimangal police station Aminul Islam said that on information, the police arrested Alamgir Hossain, accused of the kidnapping, and rescued the girl from an area called Chattar Gate at Kaliakair in Gazipur on Wednesday afternoon.
The OC said that the victim was abducted from her house at Srimangal upazila at around 7:00am on September 9 by Alamgir Hossain and his accomplices.
The victim鈥檚 uncle, Tajul Islam, filed a kidnapping case with the Srimangal police station.
