Theatre troupe Swapnadal is scheduled to pay tribute to master of mime Marcel Marceau to mark his 17th anniversary of the death organising a live programme on Facebook today, said a press release.

The programme will feature the life, work and philosophy of Marcel Marceau attended by theatre activists Juana Sobnom, Samad Bhuiyan, Jebun Nesa, Arko Apu and Tareq Aziz, which will be moderated by chief secretary of Swapnadal Zahid Repon.


Marcel Marceau, born on March 2 in 1923, was a French mime artiste and actor most famous for his stage persona, ‘Bip the Clown’. He referred to mime as the ‘art of silence’, performing professionally worldwide for more than 60 years.

Marcel Marceau passed away on September 22 in  2007.
