Leaders of the Socialist Labour Front, the labour wing of the Socialist Party of Bangladesh, on Sunday urged the interim government to prepare a complete list of slain and wounded workers in the recent student-led mass uprising.

SLF leaders, addressing a rally organised by the organisation in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka, also demanded adequate compensation for the family members of the victim workers in the mass uprising that ousted the autocratic regime of Sheikh Hasina on August 5.

The organisation, after holding the rally, handed over a memorandum to the adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, at the secretariat to press home their 10-point demand including preparing a complete list of the victims and adequate compensation for their family members.

The organisation president Razequzzaman Ratan who chaired the rally said that a good number of workers were killed and wounded in the recent mass uprising. ‘But, a complete list of the victims is yet to be prepared.’

Central leaders of the organisation Khalequzzaman Lipon, Zulfiquar Ali and Selim Mahmud, among others, also spoke.
