The 29th edition of the Dhaka International Trade Fair will start on January 1, 2025, and will be held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center at Purbachal on the outskirts of the Dhaka city, according to a press release.

The DITF steering committee-2025 in its first meeting on Tuesday made the decision.

The meeting was held to determine the various administrative and financial policies of the fair, the formation of various sub-committees, the floor price of various types of stalls/pavilions/restaurants and the entrance tickets of the fair and other lease work.

The fair will be held in January 1-31.

The commerce ministry and the Export Promotion Bureau have been organising trade fairs since 1995.

A dedicated corner will be created on the fair premises in honour of the sacrifices made by the students in the anti-discrimination student movement.

Prospective sector- and product-wise seminars will be organised at the fair.

BRTC buses will run from Farmgate and Kuril Biswa Road to the fair premises for the convenience of general visitors.

The steering committee decided on several other things, including a separate sourcing corner to attract foreign entrepreneurs/institutions, technology corner for the convenience of age-wise visitors, two large children鈥檚 parks based on technology, and an open cultural centre for product promotion and marketing.
