Bangladesh police on Wednesday afternoon arrested former Awami League lawmaker for Laxmipur-1 constituency MA Awal in a fraud case from Kalabagan in Dhaka.
Confirming the matter, Kalabagan police station officer-in-charge Motkeruzzaman said that they arrested Awal at about 5:00pm from Sultana Tower near Kalabagan Bus Stand.
鈥楢wal had taken Tk 70 lakh from the plaintiff Razib Kaiser in 2008 and Razib was scheduled to get the plot by 2010. But the accused did not give the plot till today,鈥� the OC added.
He said that Razib filed the case with the Kalabagan police station on Wednesday.
