
National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh former member Munira Khan has been appointed as chairperson of the Centre for Governance Studies, said a press release on Thursday.
She replaced Manjur Ahmed Chowdhury as chairman of the CGS, a non-government think-tank organisation.
Prior to her joining the NHRC as member, she served as president of the Fair Election Monitoring Alliance, and observed elections in different countries, including the Philippines, Zimbabwe, and India.
Munira has been actively associated with a good number of social welfare organisations, giving services to underprivileged women and children since 1974.
She also served as president of the Women鈥檚 Voluntary Association and president of the Assistance for Blind Children in different times.
Munira also served as president of the Federation of University Women in 2005 and 2006 and represented the organisation in Australia, Canada, England, Switzerland and Srilanka.
