
The Farm Machinery and Postharvest Process Engineering Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute held a workshop on development of various agricultural machineries at the FMPE seminar room on Thursday in Gazipur.
The workshop was held in collaboration with Cereal System Initiative for South Asia-Mechanisation and Extension Activity (CSISA-MEA), CIMMYT, Bangladesh.
The director general of the BARI, Md Abdullah Yousuf Akhond, was present as chief guest, while its former director Md Ayub Hossain was present as special guests at the workshop.
The workshop highlighted the various benefits of manufacturing these agriculture machines to farmers, machine manufacturers, scientists, extension workers and common people.
During the event, the owners of various machine manufacturers and the chief of party, CSISA-MEA, CIMMYT-Bangladesh were present and discussed the machines in detail.
The BARI director Munshi Rashid Ahmad gave the closing remarks and presided over the session.
The BARI support and services director Ashraf Uddin Ahmed, planning and evaluation director Md Abu Hena Sorwar Jahan, pulse research centre director Md Saleh Uddin, and senior scientists from various centre and division of the BARI, BRRI, BJRI were present at the workshop.
Senior scientific officer (FMPE) BARI and the principal investigator (BARI-Part) of the CSISA-MEA project, Muhammad Arshadul Haque, presented the keynote at the workshop.
Chief scientific officer (FMPE division) Md Nurul Amin delivered welcome speech at the programme.
