
A team of joint forces on Sunday conducted a raid on Geneva Camp in Mohammadpur area and arrested 34 miscreants, including drug peddlers, and recovered huge local weapons and ammunitions.
Four drug dealers, including Picchi Raja, were among the arrested persons. Other miscreants were involved in various criminal activities, said a press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations.
During the raid, the team recovered two pistols, 20 rounds of bullets, six Chinese axes, 39 knives, 16 ramdaos, eight chapatis, 12 packets of splinters, 53 petrol bombs and 50 helmets from their possessions.
The ISPR release said that the locals had been complaining against drug peddler Picchi Raja and his accomplices as they were allegedly running drug business in various spots of Mohammadpur area for a long time.
The miscreants were also involved in frequent shooting incidents in Geneva Camp with firearms, looted from the police stations and police on August 5, the release added.
