A section of stock market investors on Wednesday protested at a continued decline in share prices.
They held the protest programme in front of the old office building of the Dhaka Stock Exchange at Motijheel in the capital Dhaka.
The protesters said that the Bangladesh Securities Exchange and Commission should bring back the investors’ confidence in the market on a priority basis.
They said that other financial sectors were taking visible steps about reforms in the respective sectors, but the stock market regulator body was yet to announce any such steps.
The DSE indices have been witnessing volatility for the past one month.
DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka bourse, fell by 132.29 points on Wednesday to close at 5,453.99 points.
