Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal has taken charge as director general of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

He succeeded to Brigadier General Md Main Uddin who officially handed over the charge to the new DG at a programme at the FSCD headquarters in Dhaka on Thursday, said a press release.

Moderated by media cell officer-in-charge Md Shahjahan Shikder, fire service officials and employees were present on the occasion.

Jahed Kamal, in his opening address, remembered the martyrs of the War of Independence, the recent movement of students, and the martyrs of the fire service.

He expected the cooperation of all levels of officials and employees of the fire service, including the ministry, during his work.

On September 23, the public administration ministry issued a notification appointing Jahed Kamal as the DG of the fire service.
