The Rapid Action Battalion on Sunday arrested former Awami League lawmaker for Rajshahi-3 constituency Asaduzzaman Asad in Baridhara, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The RAB media and legal wing director, Lieutenant Colonel Munim Ferdous, said that Asad was arrested in the afternoon.
鈥楢sad is accused of firing on students on July 19 in Rajshahi. We will hand him over to Boalia Model police station,鈥� Munim added.
On August 28, a case was filed with the Boalia Model police station against Asaduzzaman Asad accusing him of theft, carrying out bomb attacks and intimidating people.
According to RAB, Asad, also a former AL Rasjshahi district unit general secretary, was allegedly involved in extortion, land grabbing, misappropriation of government property and others.
