
Border Guard Bangladesh has seized various types of smuggled goods worth over Tk 253 crore 56 lakh and 85 thousand by carrying out raids in border areas and other places of the country in September.
The seized goods include gold, silver, snake venom, coal, sugar, phone display, betel nut, fish, truck, pickup, microbus, boat, motorbike, and cosmetics items, said a BGB press release on Sunday.
Among the recovered weapons include 2 pistols, 1 gun, and 10 cocktails.
The BGB also seized drugs and narcotics include yaba, crystal meth ice, heroin and phensedyl.
Legal action were taken against 241 smugglers and 298 Bangladeshi nationals and 24 Indian nationals for crossing the border illegally in the BGB operation on the border, mentioned the press release, adding that 1,621 Myanmar nationals had been repatriated after being detained in September.
