
A Dhaka court on Monday issued an international travel ban on Padma Bank former chairman Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat over allegations of corruption.
Dhaka senior special judge court passed the order after Anti-Corruption Commission deputy director Masudur Rahman submitted a petition seeking the travel ban.
ACC public prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir confirmed it to 抖阴精品.
Earlier on August 15, ACC started an inquiry against Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat over embezzlement of around Tk聽800 crore from the bank and share market.
ACC officials said that the commission recently got an allegation that Nafiz Sarafat took away around Tk聽800 crore from Padma Bank and Share Market in various ways through corruption and irregularities.
Nafeez resigned as the chairman of Padma Bank citing health reasons after more than six years in the position in January this year.
He joined the Padma Bank, formerly known as Farmers Bank, in January 2018 after its former chairman Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir resigned from the board for his alleged involvement in financial scams.
