The election commission of the Bangladesh Football Federation on Monday announced the schedule for the October 26 elections, in which 133 voters would elect a 21-member committee to serve for four years.

The nomination paper distribution procedure will begin on Wednesday and will end on Saturday, with candidates having two further days to submit their papers on October 14 and 15 at the BFF secretariat.

The candidates will have to pay Tk one lakh to collect nomination papers for president candidature, Tk 75,000 and Tk 50,000 for senior vice-president and vice-president, and Tk 25,000 for executive member candidates.

However, BFF’s 21-member committee will be comprised of one president, one senior vice-president, four vice presidents, and 15 executive members.

The three-member election commission will conclude its review of nomination papers on October 16 and accept objections to the nominations the following day, before the hearing on October 18.

The three-member election appeal commission headed by Mohammad Zakaria and two other members — SM Harunur Rashid and Mihir Sarwar Morshed — will conduct the hearing on the objections of nominations.

The final list of candidates will be revealed at 3:00pm on October 20, an hour after the two-day withdrawal deadline for candidature.

The voting will take place at a city hotel from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, following the annual general meeting of the BFF at the same place on October 26.

The three-member BFF election commission headed by Mejbah Uddin finalised the election schedule in its first meeting on Sunday.

BFF formed the three-member election commission on October 3, making advocate AKM Ehsanur Rahman and Suraiya Aktar Jahan the other two members of the commission.
