Members of Border Guard Bangladesh detained 10 people, including two Indian nationals, from border areas in Brahmanbaria, Panchagarh and Sylhet districts.

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that BGB members on Tuesday detained two Indian nationals, including a woman, from Akhaura border in Brahmanbaria while they were trying to illegally enter Bangladesh.


A BGB patrol team of Fakirmora BOP under Sarail Battalion conducted a raid in the Akhaura border area at about 7:00am and detained Panna Rani Deb, 54, and her son Abhi Dash, 18. They are the residents of Sarmalonga village under Ramnagar police station in Tripura district, India, according to a press release.

The BGB handed them over to Akhaura police station.

A United News of Bangladesh report said that BGB personnel detained five Bangladeshi nationals from Malkadanga border of Boda upazila in Panchagarh Monday night.

The detained individuals are Nand Kishore Roy, 45, Parimal Roy, 21, Nityananda Roy, 21, Sanjay Chandra, 17 and Kalyan Roy, 24, all from Domar upazila of Nilphamari.

This information was given in a press release of BGB-56 battalion commander, Nilphamari lieutenant colonel Sheikh Mohammad Badruddoza.

According to the BGB, the five individuals were attempting to cross into India through the main pillar area of the 775 border post.

Acting on a tip-off, a BGB patrol team apprehended them from Shuyerpara, about 100 yards inside Bangladesh鈥檚 territory. The BGB also seized cash and mobile phones from them.

The process of handing over the detained to Boda police station was underway.

抖阴精品 Staff Correspondent in Sylhet reported that BGB members arrested three women, including an adolescent girl, at Goainghat border in Sylhet Tuesday afternoon for their attempt to cross the border illegally to go to India.

The arrested are Manjushree Joadder, 38, wife of Binay Datta of Kapariya village in Magura, her daughter Dighi Joadder, 14, and Hira Biswas, 18, wife of Sukesh Biswas of Sabrigram in the same district.

The BGB 48 battalion commander lieutenant colonel Hafizur Rahman said that a patrol team of the BGB detained the trio from alongside Ranirghat border at about 3:00pm.

The alleged human trafficker Rupan Sarker, 22, son of Ratan Sarkar of Akhlachpur village at Maturtal Bazar area of Goainghat, fled the scene sensing the presence of the patrol team, the BGB official said.

He said that legal step would be taken against the detained.
