A Tk100 crore defamation case was filed against actress Shomi Kaiser for allegedly making derogatory comments about Bangladesh Nationalist Party founder Ziaur Rahman on Sunday.
The case was initiated in the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Magura by Md Rezwan Kabir.
According to the plaintiff鈥檚 lawyer, Advocate Kazi Minhaj, Shomi Kaiser referred to the former president Ziaur Rahman as a 鈥榥ational traitor.鈥�
Feeling aggrieved, the plaintiff sought legal action, prompting the court to direct the Police Bureau of Investigation to look into the matter.
