
The Judicial Reform Commission (JRC) announced on Monday that it will prioritize recommendations for the speedy disposal of pending lower court cases, reducing litigation costs, and formulating guidelines for the appointment of Supreme Court judges.
鈥淥ur responsibility is to make recommendations and submit them to the Council of Advisers for review,鈥 said JRC Chairman Shah Abu Nayeem Mominur Rahman during a press briefing at the Judicial Administration Training Institute following the commission鈥檚 second meeting. He emphasized that reducing the case backlog remains a top priority.
Other commission members present at the briefing included Emdadul Haque, Farid Ahmed Shibli, Syedul Aminul Islam, Masdar Hossain, Quazi Mahfujul Hoque Supan, and Tanim Hossain Shaon.
The JRC was constituted by the interim government on October 5 to make recommendations to streamline judicial processes and ensure efficient administration of justice.
