A human chain was formed in front of Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters at the capital’s Segunbagicha on Monday afternoon, demanding the arrest of corrupt people immediately.
An organisation named ‘Chhatra-Janata Oikya Mancha’ (Student-People Unity Platform) organised the human chain.
Criticising the role of ACC in the past 15 years, Abdullah Al Hossain, the convenor of the organisation, said that ACC did not play a proper role to prevent money laundering from Bangladesh.
Speakers at the human chain also blamed ACC officials over the laundering of a huge amount of money by businessmen, politicians and others in the past 15 years.
ACC did not take any role to prevent the money laundering despite being an independent body, they said, urging the government to take measures for the arrest of the corrupt people and bringing laundered money back to the country.
