The Students' Movement Against Discrimination issued five demands titled ‘Five Demands of Students and People' on Tuesday.
Hasnat Abdullah, the movement’s coordinator, announced the demands in a Facebook post.
The five demands are repealing the 1972 constitution of Bangladesh, the banning of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the resignation of Bangladesh President Sahabuddin, the proclamation of a republic and national elections held in 2014, 2018 and 2024 should be declared invalid.
Hasnat Abdullah emphasised the urgency of these demands, writing in his post, ‘The advisory council of the interim government has already scheduled a discussion with us for tomorrow. We expect decisions regarding the implementation of the students’ and people’s five demands to be made after the discussions.’
