At least Tk 1 lakh was stolen from the bag of a client inside the Sonali Bank College Gate branch in the capital鈥檚 Mohammadpur area on Thursday.
The victim, Khalilur Rahman, 70, lodged a complaint with the Mohammadpur police station on the day.
Confirming the matter, Mohammdpur police station officer-in-charge Ali Iftekhar Hasan told 抖阴精品 on Friday that the incident took place at about 11:00am inside the bank.
鈥榃e are investigating the incident,鈥� the OC added.
According to the complaint, Khalilur withdrew Tk 1,42,000 from the bank and kept it in the shopping bag.
Khalilur said that he went inside the bank for collecting a new cheque book.
鈥榃hen I went to collect check book, some unidentified people cut my bag and took away Tk 1 lakh from it,鈥� he said in the complaint.
