At least three people were killed and 15 others injured in road accidents in Munshiganj, Dinajpur and Jhenaidah on Friday.聽聽聽

抖阴精品 Correspondent in Munshiganj reported that an elderly person died following a collision between a battery-run auto-rickshaw and a goods-laden truck on the Tongibari-Baligaon road in Munshiganj鈥檚 Tongibari upazila.


The deceased, Mrinal Haque Sheikh, 60, a passenger in the auto-rickshaw, fell onto the street after the clash and sustained severe injuries.

Mrinal, hailing from the Chandgaon area of the upazila, died while being taken to Tongibari Upazila Health Complex.

Tongibari police station officer-in-charge Mohidul Islam said that legal action would be taken based on the complaint from the victim鈥檚 family, and the police seized both the vehicles involved in the accident.聽

United News of Bangladesh reported that an unidentified youth died and about 15 others were injured when a bus overturned at Phulbari upazila in Dinajpur.

The injured were undergoing treatment at Phulbari Upazila Health Complex, said sub-inspector Rezaul Karim of the Phulbari police station.

The accident took place when a Nowshin Paribahan bus, en route to Ranisankail in Thakurgaon, overturned in the Mirza Jute Mills area at about 5:30am after the driver lost control of the bus, the SI added.

The bus driver and his assistant fled the scene.

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, meanwhile, reported that a motorcyclist was killed as a bus crushed his motorcycle in the Jhenaidah town.

The deceased is Rashed Mia, 50, a resident of Udoipur area in the town.

The police said that the accident took place at about 9:30am in bus stand area on the Jhenaidah-Jashore Road, leaving Rashed Mia dead on the spot.

Officer-in-charge of Jhenaidah Sadar Thana Abdullah Al Mamun said that they seized the bus.
