A woman and her son were hacked to death by some unidentified miscreants at their house in Hasan Nagar area of Sunamganj town on Tuesday.
The deceased are Farida Begum, 45, and her son Minhaj, 20. They used to live in that area and came from Shantiganj upazila.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered their bodies from the house.
Officer-in-charge of Sunamganj model thana Nazmul Haque said that the murder could have happened early morning.
He said that Farida鈥檚 elder sister used to live next to her room with her son Foysal who was unseen since the murder. Police found her [elder sister] senseless at the house and admitted to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital.
The criminal investigation department of the police had been asked to investigate the murder, OC Nazmul added.
