Bangladesh coach Javier Cabrera on Wednesday announced a 16-member preliminary squad without regular captain Jamal Bhuyan for the two FIFA International friendly matches against the Maldives at home this month.
The two matches will be played at the Bashundhara Kinga Arena on November 13 and 16.Ìý
The initial squad, who will begin their training from Friday, barred players from the Bashundhara Kings who are currently in Bhutan for the AFC Challenge League.
Jamal, who has been without a club since the end of last season as he failed to negotiate with his former club Abahani, is now in Denmark with his family.
However, talking to local media, Jamal, who trained for a few days with Brothers Union despite not being registered with the club, stated that he informed the coach about his unavailability for the friendlies because of family reasons.
‘We are expecting our first baby in November. So, I am not available for national assignment in this period as I have to stay with my family. And I informed Cabrera earlier,’ said Jamal.
