
Family members and well-wishers will commemorate the life and legacy of former advisory council member of BNP chairperson, secretary and ambassador Sabihuddin Ahmed at a programme scheduled to be held at the conference room of Brac Centre in Dhaka on Saturday, says a press release.
The programme will be organised to mark the second anniversary of the death of Sabihuddin Ahmed, who died on October 31, 2022.
Sabihuddin Ahmed studied economics at Dhaka University. Later, he joined the Pakistan Civil Service.
After the independence of Bangladesh, he served as the information officer of different ministers.
He served as the private secretary to the then prime minister Khaleda Zia in 1991. Later, he returned to the information cadre.
In 2001, Sabihuddin Ahmed joined environment and forests ministry as secretary.
Besides, he was appointed as Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK.
After retiring as a secretary, Sabihuddin Ahmed actively joined BNP politics and was appointed as a foreign affairs adviser of the party chairperson.
He took a break from politics in 2017 as he had been suffering from neurological complications.
He died after suffering a brain stroke at the age of 76 in 2022.
