Youth and sports adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain on Friday said that 5,00,000 jobs would be created in the government sector in the next two years.
Asif Mahmud, also the adviser of labour and employment ministry, made the announcement while addressing a function organised to mark the National Youth Day-2024 at Osmani memorial auditorium in Dhaka as chief guest, said a ministry press release.
鈥榊outh is the best time of human life and best part of human resources,鈥� he said, noting, 鈥楢s a demographic dividend, power of this youth is very important for the country鈥檚 economy.鈥�
Asif Mahmud further said that their interim government was developing the job-seeking youth as human resources through the department of youth development.
Posts, telecommunications and information technology adviser Md Nahid Islam said that the young generation would lead Bangladesh in all aspects.
鈥榊oung people have shown Bangladesh a new way . . . they will lead Bangladesh in all aspects,鈥� he said.
Nahid Islam, also the adviser of information and broadcasting ministry, made the remarks while addressing the same programme as special guest.
He said that the young generation, who had dreamt of building new Bangladesh through July mass-uprising, were taking preparation to lead all sectors, including economy, politics, business and society.
鈥楴ot only the people of Bangladesh but the whole world is thinking anew about the youth and is looking at them with surprise,鈥� he said.
鈥楤angladeshi young generation has shown the world a new path through the July mass-uprising, and the whole world is now waiting to see where this people will take Bangladesh.鈥�
The adviser hoped that Bangladesh would definitely go to a better place if the enthusiasm, passion and consciousness of young people were properly utilised.
All took the street during the July mass-uprising, when there was patriotism on the one side and death on the other, he said, adding that they had to fight choosing either motherland or death.
鈥極ur fight is ongoing and we will definitely protect our motherland and stand high in the world again,鈥� Nahid Islam continued.
The two advisers visited the youth fair organised in celebrating the National Youth Day-2024.
In addition, National Youth Awards 2024 were given to 12 successful self-activists and three best youth organisers at the event.
With youth and sports secretary Md Rezaul Maksud Jahedi in chair, director general of department of youth development Gazi Md Saifuzzaman and officials concerned were present, among others.
