
Openers Anamul Haque Bijoy and Amit Mojumder hit tons as Khulna reached 358-6 on Day 1 of their third-round National Cricket League game against Dhaka Metro at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Amit hammered 145 off 234 balls with 14 fours and three sixes while Anamul scored 125 off 169 balls, including 13 boundaries and three sixes.
The duo gave Khulna a blazing start, sharing 230 runs for the opening stand.
Shohidul Islam broke through with the wicket of Anamul but Amit and Imrul Kayes combined for a 96-run for the second wicket.
The partnership was broken when Imrul was run out for 46. After his dismissal, Khulna lost four wickets for 28 runs.
At stumps, Tipu Sultan was batting on one with Mahedi Hasan yet to score.
Pace trio Abu Jayed Rahi (3-36), Syed Khaled Ahmed (3-45) and Rejaur Rahman Raja (3-43) took three wickets each as Sylhet bowled Rangpur out for 158 in the day鈥檚 other match at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
Captain Akbar Ali was the top-scorer with 37 while opener Khalid Hasan made 33.
At stumps, Sylhet reached 24-0, trailing by 134 runs with Pinak Ghosh (14) and Taufiq Khan Tushar (9) in the crease.
At Cox鈥檚 Bazar Academy Ground, Chattogram, asked to bat first, reached 107-1 against Dhaka Division after the match was delayed due to wet outfield.
Parvez Hossain Emon was batting on 54 with Sazzadul Hoque Ripon 46 when the bails were drawn. Sabbir Hossen was the only man dismissed for one.
The other match between Rajshahi and Barishal was abandoned due to a wet outfield.
