The University of Dhaka’s Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Hall unit of voluntary blood donors’ organisation Badhan held an orientation and blood donor award in the hall auditorium on Friday.
The DU vice-chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmad Khan was present as chief guest at the event.
Presided over by president of Shahidullah Hall unit Badhan Alim Mahmud, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital head of transfusion medicine Dr Kashfia Islam was present as the chief discussant at the event.
Hall provost Professor Mohammad Zabed Hossain, hall unit advisers Md Mostabhi Inan and Md Sifat-e-Arman also spoke at the event.
Badhan is one of the organisations, which has been working in the service of humanity in our society, said Niaz Ahmad, adding that the university administration would always support the voluntary work and social service activities of the students.
In the event, the highest blood donors of the hall unit were felicitated and the best workers of Badhan were awarded, said a DU press release on Saturday.
