
A delegation of Bangladesh Chhatra Kalyan Trust on Monday met home affairs adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury at his office at secretariat in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Chhatra Kalyan Trust chairman Professor Md Moin Uddin Khan, also an adviser of former caretaker government, led the delegation, said a press release.Â
The other members of the delegation were founder and executive director of BCKT principal Noore Alam Talukdar, member of BCKT and general secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad Farooq Hasan, joint convener of Gono Odhikar Parishad Md Tarek Rahman, president of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Peshajidi Dal and BCKT director Ariful Islam Zia and BCKT director Mustakima Islam Meem.
During the meeting, the delegation urged the adviser to immediately set up an education reform commission for the purpose of reforming the education system of Bangladesh and emphasised on the appointment of qualified teachers in primary schools and their proper training.
Noore Alam Talukdar said that the interim government had formed six commissions, but the education reform commission had not been formed till date.
‘Reform of the education system is very important if the nation is to stand tall. Therefore, it is important to form an education reform commission comprising all stake holders without delay,’ he said, urging the representative of Chhatra Kalyan Trust should also be included in the commission.
