
Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation chairman Md Ruhul Amin Khan said that all concerned should be more alert and attentive to ensure that farmers were not discriminated or harassed in getting quality fertilisers, seeds and irrigation facilities.聽
He made this remarks while exchanging views in a meeting organised by Thakurgaon district administration with the participation of farmers, various stockholders, BADC and other officials of the district, said a press release on Monday.
He also asked all concerned to take effective steps to ensure that there was no artificial shortage of fertilisers anywhere in the country to ensure agricultural security during the production season.
Taking into account the benefits and interests of the farmers, measures have been taken to supply the seed of potatoes at the farmers level this year with the aim of supplying them in advance, mentioned the BADC chairman.
During the visit of the activities of various wings of the BADC in Dinajpur and Thakurgaon, he also inaugurated the newly built pre-fabricated steel fertiliser warehouse with a capacity of 6200 tonne at Parbatipur in Dinajpur, added the press release.
Member director (fertiliser management) Md Ashrafuzzaman, project director and field level officials were present during the inauguration.
