
Planning Division鈥檚 deputy chief Afroza Akhtar Chowdhury has been appointed deputy commissioner of Jaipurhat district.
The Ministry of Public Administration through a notification appointed her as the first woman DC of Jaipurhat on October 30, said a press release.
New deputy commissioner and district magistrate Afroza Akhtar took charge from acting deputy commissioner of Jaipurhat Mohiuddin Jahangir on Sunday.
Afroza Akhtar was born in Munshiganj district. She passed SSC in 1994 from Bogura Government High Girls School. After passing HSC from the University of Women's Federation College in 1996, she was admitted to Dhaka University in Finance and Banking. There she passed BBA in 2000 and MBA in 2001.
After joining the administration cadre through 24th BCS, her first workplace was the Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner's office as assistant commissioner in July 2005.
Afroza Akhtar served as a UNO from June 2012 to November 2016. She then joined the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division as deputy director. After serving as deputy secretary in the Ministry of Defence, she has been working as the Deputy chief of the Planning Division since August 2022.
