
The government has fixed all fees except the monthly tuition fees for the students of Class VI to Class XII of non-government educational institutions across the country.
The fees have been fixed under the Non-Government Educational Institutions (Schools, School and Colleges, Higher Secondary Colleges and Degree Colleges with Higher Secondary Level) Tuition Fee Policy 2024.
The monthly tuition fees at these non-government educational institutions would be fixed by this month, said a circular issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division.
The circular dated October 27 was posted on the division鈥檚 website on November 3.
The policy fixed fees for different types of institutions under three categories.
For the secondary level schools under the monthly payment order facility, the highest annual fee has been fixed at Tk 1,000 for development purposes (if applicable), Tk 240 for ICT (Tk 20 for each month), Tk 200 for publishing syllabuses, registration and project progress reports, Tk 150 for ports and Tk 150 per month for tiffin purpose (if applicable).
The lowest annual fee is Tk 10 for treatment services, Tk 10 for swimming training (if applicable), Tk 20 for the library, Tk 25 for welfare or poverty fund, Tk 30 for the common room, and Tk 40 for laboratory (if applicable) in these institutions.
For the secondary level schools under the MPO facility, the highest annual fee has been fixed at Tk 1,000 for development purposes (if applicable) in metropolitan areas and the lowest annual fee is Tk 5 for common rooms in suburban areas.
In the case of the secondary level schools not under MPO facility, the highest annual fee has been fixed at Tk 2,000 for development purposes in metropolitan areas and the lowest annual fee is Tk 10 for treatment (if applicable) and swimming training (if applicable) in metropolitan, municipality, upazila and suburb areas.
For the colleges that are not under the MPO facility, the highest annual fee has been fixed at Tk 2,000 for development purposes in metropolitan areas and the lowest annual fee is Tk 10 for treatment and swimming training in metropolitan, municipality, upazila and suburb areas.
A 10-member committee headed by the additional divisional commissioner (education and ICT) will work to fix the monthly tuition fees for the educational institutions in metropolitan areas, officials said.
A seven-member committee headed by a deputy commissioner will fix the monthly tuition fees for the educational institutions in district towns and in the municipality and upazila areas.
These committees will fix the fees by November 30 each year and send a report to the education ministry by December 31 each year.
