
A five-member delegation headed by deputy commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command Lt Gen Joshua M Rudd has paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh鈥檚 army chief General Waqar-Uz-Zaman at the Army Headquarters in Dhaka during a three-day visit.
The meeting was held during the US delegation鈥檚 three-day visit from Wednesday to Friday, according to a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations on Friday.
During the visit, the five-member delegation headed by deputy commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command Lt Gen Joshua M Rudd also met with the Armed Forces Division principal staff officer Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hassan and some other officials.
During the bilateral meetings to increase the scope of cooperation, they discussed about arranging joint drills and training.聽
During this visit, discussions focused on strengthening mutual cooperation between the armed forces of both countries, enhancing professional skills, and collaborating on humanitarian assistance and disaster management (HADR) efforts.
This visit is likely to play a crucial role in strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United States, fostering closer cooperation to address regional security and humanitarian challenges, ISPR added.
