Seven people, including two Indian nationals, have been detained by the members of Border Guard Bangladesh from a speedboat in Barkal Launch Ghat in Rangamati district.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-45 conducted a drive at a Rangamati-bound speedboat from Choto Harina area at about 4:30pm Friday and detained them, said director of Barkal BGB-45 battalion lieutenant colonel Masud Al Ferdous.
The two Indian nationals are Suresh Chyakma, 39, son of Anjan Kumar Chakma and Arongkhan Chakma, 30, son of Jalanta Kumar Chakma. They entered Bangladesh through Thegamukh area without valid document.
The BGB members also recovered Tk 2.69 lakh and a mobile phone set from their possession.
