The central steering committee of Gantantra Mancha, a combine of six political parties, at a meeting expressed concern over the failure of the interim government to control price hike of the essential commodities in their 100-day rule.

The resolution of the meeting, held at Nagarik Oikya central office on Topkhana Road on Monday, said that common people were suffering much to run their families facing abnormal price hike of some essential commodities.


Nagarik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Ganosamhati Andolan chief coordinator Zonayed Saki, Bhashani Onusari Parishad convener Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, Rastra Sanskar Andolan chief coordinator Hasnat Quaiuym, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD general secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon and others spoke at the meeting.

The leaders of Mancha called on the interim government to take all out steps to contain the price hikes controlling the syndicates.

Mancha will hold a rally at Purana Paltan crossing at 11:00am on November 27, protesting against the price hikes, the resolution said.

Saiful Huq, coordinator of the combine and also general secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party, presided over the programme.
