Police have arrested Shahjahan Omar, a former lawmaker for the Jhalokati-1 constituency, from Rajapur in Jhalakathi.
Police said he was arrested on Wednesday and is expected to be produced before court on Thursday.
On Wednesday night, unidentified miscreants reportedly attacked and vandalised the former MP鈥檚 residence in Rajapur-Kathalia area.
Shahjahan Omar served as an MP for the Jhalakathi-1 constituency, covering Rajapur and Kathalia.
