
Independent Filmmakers Community has organised the Friday Movie Night with screening of 10 short films and one full-length film made by promising filmmakers at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
Ten short films screened in the event are Remakri, Ayna, Shabnam, Interiors and Exteriors, Kabi Swamir Mrityur Par Jabanbandi, Ghran, A Letter to God, Antara, Surat, Galpa, and Abdullah Mohammad Saad-directed feature film Live From Dhaka, said a press release on Saturday.
The event also screened the Office of the Chief Adviser-made film on the July-August Uprising titled July Anirban.
A collective effort to screen films by independent filmmakers, the community has taken the initiative to present films to the audience on the open space of the Udyan. ‘We dream of continuing this programme throughout the year.’Â
At the event, the filmmakers also called on the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy to establish a full-fledged film department in the BSA.
