A 17-year-old boy was allegedly killed by his neighbour Sunday night in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj, following a dispute over sharing a Wi-Fi connection.

The victim Mustakin Miah, a construction worker and son of the late Zafar Miah of Purangaon village in Kaliarbhanga union, was reportedly attacked while sleeping in his bedroom at about 10:00pm, according to Nabiganj police station officer-in-charge Md Kamal Hossain.


The suspect Raihan Uddin allegedly slit Mustakin鈥檚 throat during the attack and he died on the spot. The victim鈥檚 mother stated that the duo had quarrelled several days earlier over the Wi-Fi connection.

Police recovered the body at about 12:30am Monday and later handed it over to the family after completing a post-mortem examination at Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital.

A murder case was filed against Raihan and several of his relatives by Mustakin鈥檚 mother Monday evening.

OC Kamal Hossain confirmed that efforts were underway to apprehend the accused. 聽
