The authorities of Islamic University celebrated the 46th University Day on the occasion of the 45th founding anniversary on the campus in Kushtia on Monday.
Marking the day, the IU vice-chancellor Professor Nakib M Nasrullah hoisted the national flag, while the IU Day Celebration Committee convener Professor Alinur Rahman hoisted the university flag.
The VC inaugurated the programmes releasing pigeons and balloons in the sky. Led by the VC, teachers, students, officers and employees of the university also brought out a procession on the campus.
The VC attended a discussion as chief guest at the Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium.
After that, a cultural event was held at the auditorium participated by teachers and students of different departments of the university.
The IU theology faculty dean Professor ABM Siddiqur Rahman Asrafi, proctor Professor M Shahinuzzaman, IIER director Professor Iqbal Hossain, among others, were present on the occasion.
