
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy held a poetry recitation programme to uphold the spirit of the recent student-led mass uprising at its National Art Gallery Auditorium in Dhaka on Sunday.
With the slogan titled Ora Sabai Hathat Phota, Shimuler Dhabdhabe Tulo, poets Kajal Shaahnewaz, Shakhawat Tipu, Kamruzzaman Kamu and Rumia Rumi presented self-penned poems at the programme.
Recitation artistes Shahidul Islam Razu, Shahriar Khan Shihab, Kazi Bushra Ahmed Tithi, Habiba Sultana Happy and Faizul Alam Pappu recited poems about the revolution at the programme.
Recitation troupes ULAB Bangla Samsad and Dhwani also performed at the event.听
The BSA director Nava Mehjabeen Rahman delivered a welcome speech at the event.
President of the Bangla Academy, Professor Abul Quasem Fazlul Huq, was present as chief guest at the programme, which was presided over by the BSA director general Syed Jamil Ahmed.
The past three parliamentary elections were one-sided, which also created questions about the election commission, said Abul Quasem Fazlul Huq, adding that poets and writers should write against injustice.
People of the country hope that the interim government will be able to stabilise the political crisis of the country, he mentioned.
