Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam has been made acting vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
A health and family welfare ministry notification issued on Tuesday said that as the post of VC of the university was vacant, as per the BSMMU Act, the senior pro-VC would serve as acting VC of the university until further orders.
One of the leading scientists in the field of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease in the country, Professor Shahinul Alam has collaborated on many research papers with different countries鈥� scientists including Australia, Japan, China, Singapore, South Korea, Pakistan, and India.
