Fast bowler Nahid Rana has been included in the Bangladesh squad for the three-match T20 international series against the West Indies that begins at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent on Monday.

The match will start at 6:00am Bangladesh Standard Time, and T Sports and Nagorik TV will televise the match live.

The express pacer has so far represented his country in six Tests and three ODIs but is yet to make his T20I debut. He made his ODI debut against Afghanistan last month.

Bangladesh head coach Phil Simmons has recently hinted that Rana would be getting a chance to showcase his skills in the shortest format.

The 22-year-old, though, wasn’t included when BCB first announced the squad for the series. Liton Das will lead the side in the absence of Najmul Hossain Shanto.

The two-match Test series was split while Bangladesh was clean swept 3-0 in the ODI series by the hosts. Liton expected that the T20I series would be tougher for them.

‘Generally T20 is a bit difficult for us,’ said Liton ahead of the series. ‘As this is West Indies’ home series, it would be tougher for us. But we will try to play a good series.’

Bangladesh have some recent memories of playing in The Arnos Vale Ground in St Vincent as three of their last World Cup matches were held here.

But Liton mentioned that the wicket is going to be different from what they saw in the World Cup.

‘When we practiced, we saw a difference. Maybe they’ve prepared this differently this time,’ said the Bangladesh stand-in-captain.

Generally, the wicket at the ground isn’t high-scoring, as the average score of the first innings has been around 133 so far.

All three matches of the series will be held at the same venue, as the next two matches are scheduled on December 18 and 20.
