The Victory Day Kabaddi tournament will begin at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city today.聽
Bangladesh Police, Fire Service and Civil Defence, and Bangladesh Army teams have been pitted in Group A, while Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, and Bangladesh Jail will compete in Group B in the men鈥檚 section of the six-day-long tournament.聽
In the women鈥檚 category, Faridpur District, Narail District, and Bangladesh Police will compete in Group A, while Group B is comprised of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Border Guard Bangladesh, and Joypurhat District.聽
In the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 group stage, each team will face each other once, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.聽
The men鈥檚 semi-finals will be held on December 22, a day before the women鈥檚 semi-finals. The final of both sections will be held on December 24.聽
Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation general secretary SM Newaz Sohag and its organising secretary Abdul Haque disclosed the details about the tournament during a press conference at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium on Wednesday.
