
Theatre troupe Actomania premiered its maiden production titled The Man Outside at Neelima Ibrahim Auditorium of Mohila Samity in the capital on Wednesday.
Talha Zubaer directed The Man Outside, the second production of Actomania, an anti-war play written by German playwright Wolfgang Borchert and translated by Mamun Haque.Â
The play depicts hopelessness of a post-war soldier called Beckmann who returns from the battlefield. He has lost his wife and his home during the war and feels alienated from beliefs and illusions of the world.  Â
‘We aimed to deliver an anti-war message through this play. It calls for a deeper understanding of the consequences of conflict and a collective commitment to peace. Hopefully, the play will inspire us to work towards a more just and peaceful world,’ said Talha Zubaer.
Sayem Sezan, Kamruzzaman Tapu, Nowrin Sazzad, Fakir Biplob, Marshia Shawon, Arghomitra Tarafder, among others, played different characters in the play.
The stage was designed by Talha Zubaer, costume by Nowrin Sazzad, music by Zafriye Abedin and Md Mukhlesur Rahman designed the light while Nowrin Sazzad also was the dramaturg of the play.
