The forthcoming Dhaka International Folk Festival was suspended due to management concern, confirmed its organiser Tanvir Hossain, also the executive creative director of Sun Communications Limited on Wednesday.

Bangladesh Army Stadium authorities have cancelled the venue due to management issues, Tanvir Hossain said, adding, ‘The recent event at the venue was undisciplined as it created traffic jam and hassle for the people on the airport road. That’s why the authorities have cancelled the event scheduled to be held in the first week of January.’

Tanvir Hossain also said that they hoped they could organise the event at the venue in a suitable time in 2025.

Dhaka International Folk Festival was held consecutively from 2015 to 2019. Due to the pandemic, the organiser could not organise the festival in 2020.
