Five dead bodies and three critically injured people were recovered from MV Al-Bakhera, a vessel carrying fertilizer on the Meghna River in Chandpur on Monday afternoon in Bangladesh.
Confirming the matter, Chandpur deputy commissioner Mohammad Mohsin Uddin said that five bodies were recovered and three critically injured persons were rescued at about 3:00pm from the vessel.
The victims were murdered with locally-made sharp weapons, he said, adding that the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately and the injured were sent to Chandpur General Government Hospital.
‘This could be an incident of a robbery attack. But the motive behind the attack would be confirmed after a proper investigation,’ he said.
