
Murshida Khatun鈥檚 maiden century steered Central Zone to 242-2 in reply to East Zone鈥檚 first innings total of 354 on Day 2 of the Women鈥檚 BCL second round match at the Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Friday.
Murshida became the fourth female batter to register a century in the first class cricket after Nigar Sultana Joty (153), Farzana Haque Pinky (102), and Dilara Dola (102).
Murhshida made 112 off 229 balls, including sixteen boundaries, while last match鈥檚 centurion Joty scored 64, and both remained unbeaten, as Central were still trailing by 112 runs at stumps.
The duo鈥檚 147-run partnership helped Central stage a solid comeback after losing Farzana Akter Lisa for 24 and Lata Mondol for 22 runs.
Earlier in the day, East Zone added 38 runs to their overnight total before being bowled out, with Farjana Akter not out on 21.
Left-arm spinner Nahida Akter finished with 4-71, and Lata Mondol grabbed 3-50 for Central.
In the other match, North Zone bowlers restricted South Zone to 220, securing a narrow 18-run first innings lead at the Bangla Trac Cricket Academy Ground.
Jannatul Ferdus Sumona claimed a five-wicket haul with figures of 5-58, while Marufa Akter took 3-54 to dismantle South Zone鈥檚 batting lineup.聽
Rumana Ahmed was the top scorer for South Zone, making 57 runs off 137 balls, supported by nine fours, while Shamima Sultana contributed 48 runs.聽
In the second innings, skipper Sobhana Mostary (21) and Ritu Moni (7) remained unbeaten as North Zone reached 95-4 at stumps, leading by 113 runs.聽
Misty Rani and Ishma Tanjim also chipped in with 32 and 22 runs, respectively.
Earlier, North Zone had posted 238 all out in their first innings.
